I wasn't disappointed; the book contains a lot of really useful information about personality traits, qualities of leadership, and the ways that leadership in the real world often looks like misbehaving in a classroom or a home. I learned a lot about why strong-willed people are the way they are, and how to balance my son's independent nature with my desire for order in the house. I especially loved the chapter on growing genius. Sometimes brilliance behaves badly and learning how to cultivate brilliance when this happens was one of the best parts of this book. Overall, the book was well-written and insightful. What I found even more impressive was how Mann's advice throughout was applicable not only to toddlers but to children up to say ten years old. She was the epitome of what the author describes and I was at my wits end trying to cope with her a great deal of the time. This book is such a valuable resource for young parents. I shared some of it with my daughter who is now in her thirties and she said I should buy her a copy because her young step daughter is very strong willed! Must be Karma. Lol.
